Additional Information

Postal boxes are the new norm when it comes to e-Commerce packaging. Because postal boxes are die-cut, they offer some key additional features compared to your standard single wall box, such as a hinged lid and tuck in closure. Postal boxes can also be printed both inside and out, perfect for reinforcing brand identity and leaving an impression. Combing all these additional features becomes any marketing departments dream, allowing for the creation of a more exciting unboxing experience!

What are die cut boxes and what's all the hype about?

Additional Features: Die cut boxes are a great solution for more complex packaging solutions or to create boxes with additional features.

This range of postal boxes are a standard 0427 FEFCO style. We love the way the hinged lid opens to reveal the products inside, making for a pleasant, hassle free unboxing experience.

These postal boxes have front and side flaps that tuck snugly into the box to close it – you don't need the usual masses of tape to seal it closed, but many customers opt for a custom printed sticker or tamper proof sticker for that little added security.

Creating a die-cut box from scratch usually requires an initial investment cost for the die cutting tool, however if you select a die cut postal box from our extensive range of sizes, you won't have these set up costs, because we have invested for you.

Our standard postal boxes range has 9 sizes and we offer them all in White or Kraft. All die boxes come flat on a pallet to save on storage space. They are very quick to make up, with two very simple locking tabs on each side and the hinged lid and fold in flaps for closure.

Parcel Sizes

Many e-Commerce boxes like our single wall or double wall cardboard shipping boxes are categorised by Royal Mail as small or medium parcels, which is great for keeping your shipping costs to a minimum, however 0427 postal boxes can be custom made to even shallower depths, such as a maximum external depth of 25mm, which is categorised as the maximum size to be classed as a large letter by Royal Mail. This makes this style of postal box attractive to many e-Commerce sectors.

When it comes to sending your goods by courier, the parcel size and measurements are equally important to keep shipping costs to a minimum, which is why we always display the external box sizes alongside the internal dimensions. This will help you best determine the shipping costs for your selected packaging.

Top tip: Whilst letterbox sizes do vary, the standard UK letterbox will fit a package with the maximum external dimensions of 254mm long and 38mm high.

Custom Printed White Postal Boxes

Standard white 0427 postal boxes like these are very easy to customise. For low quantities you might want to consider a printed label or sticker to promote your brand and make your boxes tamper evident. For quantities of 500 and over, you can get your postal boxes custom printed. Just get in touch with the Packaging Supplies team for an instant quotation.

packaging solutions

Expert packaging suppliers for over 40 years, with an emphasis on plastic-free packaging

In the late 1970s, two friends and colleagues, Tim Allen and Stewart Middleton saw a gap in the market for a different type of packaging supplier. At the time, other businesses were selling custom made boxes and stocking packaging consumables, but Tim and Stewart wanted to offer more than that. They wanted to give their clients additional services, such as warehouse storage and the ability to have their packaging delivered as and when it was required. Packaging Supplies was established, and the rest is history.
