2. Custom Packaging — We create fully customised packaging tailored for retail or eCommerce. We specialise not only in bespoke corrugated packaging for industry, but also other forms of cardboard, including folding cartons and luxury rigid boxes. Our custom packaging includes printed bags, packaging sleeves, printed tape, protective inserts and machinery. We print our custom designs using water or vegetable-based inks, avoiding the use of harmful chemicals or dyes.

In the late 1970s, two friends and colleagues — Tim Allen and Stewart Middleton — saw a gap in the market for a different type of packaging supplier.
At the time, other businesses were selling custom-made boxes and stock packaging, but Tim and Stewart wanted to offer more.
They wanted to give their clients additional services, such as warehouse storage and the ability to have their packaging delivered the moment it was required.
Packaging Supplies Ltd was established in 1981, and the rest is history.
Packaging Supplies Ltd was established. The business started with offices in Ashford, Middlesex and was very much a family-run enterprise, offering clients additional services alongside stock and custom packaging solutions.
In just a few years, the business had grown. New, larger premises made way for introducing a range of packaging ancillaries such as tapes, void fill and polythene products to complement the bespoke packaging and the storage and call-off model.
The new premises also gave Packaging Supplies the room to broaden their range of services even further. Adding a fulfilment service to the business included pick, pack and despatch.
After a decade of success, a sister company was formed — PackMe Ltd. The new enterprise had a creative flair and started to design and manufacture kid’s activity packs, aiming their business towards a slightly different market.
Both businesses maintained an emphasis on quality products and services, with a personal, friendly approach to customer service. This has enabled them to grow steadily while diversifying their offering.
Packaging Supplies began exploring new ways to expand the packaging side of the business. Tim and Stewart acquired a packaging company in South Oxfordshire. This operation specialised in shipping boxes, both off-the-shelf and custom-made, and a range of warehouse consumables targeted at industrial shipping and storage.
With the knowledge and expertise gained over the years, Packaging Supplies started to develop into the business we see today. Now firmly established in custom packaging solutions — including folding cartons and luxury rigid boxes — we expanded to offer a full suite of additional services.
From the success of Packaging Supplies and PackMe, combined with the collective knowledge and experience gained, we opened up a specialist food packaging division — Takeaway Packaging.
This enterprise operates independently from our PackMe site in Berkshire. Takeaway Packaging covers all aspects of fast food packaging through their online shop and branding packaging services. Their range includes printed napkins to printed food delivery or takeaway boxes.
As a group, we continued to work closely together to offer our clients a complete, reliable and friendly service, even during arguably the most challenging period in the packaging industry’s history.
Both Packaging Supplies and Takeaway Packaging become carbon-neutral packaging suppliers. The new status has cemented our position as the most eco-friendly packaging suppliers in the UK, taking an uncompromising stance towards plastic waste and carbon emissions.
