The presence of oil, grease, and food makes it challenging to separate and bind the cardboard fibres together. Although you can remove the greasy bottoms of pizza boxes and recycle the clean lids, it’s still not the most sustainable way to dispose of pizza box packaging.

The application of Kraft greaseproof paper on the inside of our pizza boxes offers another significant advantage. Through testing, we discovered that the tightly-packed fibres in the Kraft paper provide higher resistance to grease penetration, resulting in minimal absorption into the cardboard.

Contrary to the belief that pizza boxes are not recyclable due to grease absorption, we’ve debunked this myth. Our pizza box packaging remains fully recyclable, even after use.
Our 7 to 14-inch pizza boxes are currently shrink-wrapped for protection using recyclable material. This is crucial to maintain the integrity of our food-grade products throughout the supply chain. While we are actively seeking alternatives to plastic, there are currently no better options available.
Cardboard and paper are stored for a significant period before processing. Over time, any food and grease residue on them can become rancid, attracting insects and animals.
To prepare cardboard for recycling, it is washed with soapy water and a mixture of chemicals to eliminate coloured inks and glue. The cardboard is then mixed with water to create a slurry. However, removing oil and grease requires thorough scrubbing. Consequently, the slurry becomes a water-oil mixture, making it impossible to separate the oil from the paper fibres. The presence of greasy pizza boxes can contaminate an entire batch, rendering it unusable.
Another challenge in recycling is “wish-cycling,” where non-recyclable waste is mistakenly placed in recycling bins due to the assumption or desire for it to be recyclable. This can cause issues during the recycling process, as even a single item can contaminate a batch of clean cardboard if not detected early.

During its manufacturing process, the wood pulp undergoes a chemical pulping method that effectively removes impurities. This ensures that the resulting Kraft paper is free from toxic chemicals, additives, and contaminants that may pose a risk of leaching into food.
We also hold BRCGS certification (British Reputation Compliance Global Standards), which covers the storage of both food and non-food grade packaging, including stationery items for restaurant groups, as well as contract packing of individually packaged food sachets into retail and wholesaler packs. We offer free delivery and tracking on all orders within the UK mainland while saving on eco-friendly packaging. Whether you require large quantities or regular pallet orders, reach out to us via phone or email. Our comprehensive business support includes 30-day accounts, stock management, and call-off services for bespoke and printed boxes, all with next-day delivery.
Courier deliveries will be made between 9am – 6pm.
All deliveries must be signed for unless stated in the special instructions when placing the order.

As soon as your goods leave our premises they are tracked until they reach your door!
We partner with DPD for a reason, they offer the most in flexibility and customer service features. Once your goods are picked up from our depot, you will be notified via either the email addressed you provided or by text message on the telephone number you provide during the order process.
On the day of delivery, you will be given a 1-hour delivery slot, this means that you do not need to be in all day like other couriers. Through the DPD app or website you are able to track the route and name of your driver.
Going to be out whilst the delivery is taking place? No Problem, you can either change the delivery address or even request it be delivered to a local pick up point or store. Many stores including Halfords and Sainsburys support DPD pick-ups.

Part-pallet or full pallet deliveries will be despatched through our pallet network or on our own vehicles. You will be notified by email when your delivery is being despatched, but will be unable to track it online. All pallet deliveries will be made between 8am - 6pm on the next working day.
Once your order has been placed a quote for delivery will be generated and you will be contact prior to despatch to make payment.
We aim to process and despatch orders for next business day delivery (subject to stock availability). But please allow 2-3 days for delivery.
Orders placed by 2pm Monday to Friday would normally be delivered next day (Sunday and bank holidays Excluded). Please note pallet deliveries can only be delivered on a working day with Saturdays excluded.
In the event that the product ordered is out of stock, the customer will be contacted with an estimated delivery date.

In the late 1970s, two friends and colleagues, Tim Allen and Stewart Middleton saw a gap in the market for a different type of packaging supplier. At the time, other businesses were selling custom made boxes and stocking packaging consumables, but Tim and Stewart wanted to offer more than that. They wanted to give their clients additional services, such as warehouse storage and the ability to have their packaging delivered as and when it was required. Packaging Supplies was established, and the rest is history.
