Additional Information

Pizza boxes have been around for years, but we have added a couple of modern twists. Our ever-growing range of pizza boxes are certified food grade and made in a way that will offer a higher grease resistance to other pizza boxes.

What makes these pizza boxes food grade?

With extensive research and testing here at Packaging Supplies HQ we been able to source Kraft virgin paper which is 100% food grade and can come into direct contact with food.

Many pizza boxes have the Kraft paper on the outside of the box and recycled paper on the inside - which is the traditional way to make them - but made in this way, its necessary to put a food safe layer between the food and the box, like a sheet of grease proof paper. So, we switched the paper around and put the Kraft paper on the inside of the box, because this is the part that comes into contact with the food.

If you need a copy of the food grade certification for your operation, please get in touch.

Shrink wrapped for protection

Currently our pizza boxes are shrink wrapped using a recyclable material. It's vital that there is no contamination to a food grade product, and this is the only way we can ensure this through the supply chain.

We are always on the hunt for materials to use instead of plastic, but at this stage there is nothing better available.

Higher Grease Resistance

Applying the Kraft paper on the inside has another key advantage, which was evident from our testing. The tighter packed fibres in the kraft paper make it a lot harder for the grease to penetrate, meaning less absorption into the cardboard.

Did you know that high grease absorption can mean pizza boxes cannot be recycled? With the way we make our pizza boxes, this shouldn't be a problem and most of our pizza boxes will remain fully recyclable after use.

BRC Accreditation and Storage

As well as offering many food grade products, you can be assured that our manufacturing and storage facilities are up to the job and have AA standard BRC accreditation.

Custom Printed Pizza Boxes

Standard pizza boxes like these are very easy to customise. For quantities of 500 and over, you can get your pizza box custom printed. Just get in touch with the Packaging Supplies team for an instant quotation.

Top Tip: Not all custom boxes have to be printed, we can also make them to a particular size or even with reinforced single wall fluting, for example, we make many reinforced single wall boxes which are suitable for the freezer.

By carefully selecting the right grade for your product and the journey it goes on, we ensure the right box at the best possible price.

Do you need larger volumes or regular deliveries?

If you're looking to order larger volumes than offered in our shop or wish to order by the pallet on a regular basis, please do get in touch to speak with one of our representatives today. We can offer all types of support from 30-day accounts to stock and call off for bespoke and printed boxes, all delivered on a next day basis.

Environmental Promise

Here at packaging supplies, we are big believer in the circular economy. Paper packaging is the closest packaging material to hitting this goal, with a an impressive 85.5% recycle rate in the EU. This is reason that we have changed our product offering to be completely plastic free and focus our attention on paper products which contain more recycled content and can either be recycled or composted.

These boxes are part of our 100% recyclable range, and they are made from 80% recycled.

Sustainability

All of Packaging Supplies boxes - including our pizza boxes - are made from 80% recycled paper and 20% wood from sustainable forest. Packaging Supplies are committed to environmental legislation.

The corrugated industry is helping retail companies to lower their carbon footprint. It is doing this by providing well-designed packaging that maximises storage and reduces transport costs. The industry has also seen a steady reduction in board weight while keeping board strength, which in turn is reducing packaging waste. At Packaging Supplies, we have experience in many industry sectors and can assist in providing the most sustainable packaging solutions.

Hear From Our Customers

packaging solutions

Expert packaging suppliers for over 40 years, with an emphasis on plastic-free packaging

In the late 1970s, two friends and colleagues, Tim Allen and Stewart Middleton saw a gap in the market for a different type of packaging supplier. At the time, other businesses were selling custom made boxes and stocking packaging consumables, but Tim and Stewart wanted to offer more than that. They wanted to give their clients additional services, such as warehouse storage and the ability to have their packaging delivered as and when it was required. Packaging Supplies was established, and the rest is history.
