Our rustic Kraft paper sandwich and baguette bags are made with a PLA window to show off those delicious sandwiches, pizza slices and more. We stock a range of sizes, perfect for many different sandwiches and snacks. Printed with a compostable logo to remind anyone that might think otherwise, what an environmentally friend choice these are.
What is PLA Plastic?
PLA (Polylactic Acid), is a material that is made from renewable resources such as corn starch or sugar cane. Unlike oil-based plastic, it's a natural polymer which can be commercially composted.
PLA plastic packaging produces 65% less energy than traditional plastic and emits fewer greenhouse gases. It's designed to naturally break down and so can be classified as biodegradable and compostable.
What happens if the film isn't removed and taken to a composting facility?
Don't worry, in the event these bags don't get composted, the film will not emit harmful gases when incinerated.

In the late 1970s, two friends and colleagues, Tim Allen and Stewart Middleton saw a gap in the market for a different type of packaging supplier. At the time, other businesses were selling custom made boxes and stocking packaging consumables, but Tim and Stewart wanted to offer more than that. They wanted to give their clients additional services, such as warehouse storage and the ability to have their packaging delivered as and when it was required. Packaging Supplies was established, and the rest is history.
As well as taking steps to reduce our overall carbon footprint, we have taken voluntary action to offset our unavoidable emissions & become a carbon neutral business. We are supporting projects that not only combat climate change but also contribute to multiple UN Sustainable Development goals, creating jobs and building infrastructure for local communities.
